About Mieken

Supporting your return to wholeness through lived experience and integrative care

I bring both professional expertise and first‑hand understanding to this work, because I know what it feels like to want change but feel stuck inside the process.

Why I do this work

I didn’t arrive here through theory alone. I’ve spent years navigating emotional overwhelm, nervous system dysregulation, and the frustration of knowing why I react the way I do — yet still feeling stuck.

Through practice and lived experience, I discovered that change isn’t about pushing harder or analysing more — it comes from slowing down enough for the nervous system to feel safe, and working with the body, not against it.

A different way of supporting change

Because of my personal journey, the way I work is intentionally:

  • paced and collaborative, not directive
  • grounded in emotional safety
  • respectful of your current capacity — meeting you exactly where you are today
  • focused on integration, not fixing
  • flexible — you’re always in control of pace and depth
  • supportive whether you know what you want to work on or not

This approach supports people who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or tired of trying to change themselves through force.

I don’t believe healing needs to be driven by pressure, urgency, or self-judgement.

You don’t need to be in crisis to seek support.

And you don’t need dissatisfaction to be the reason you change.

What matters to me in sessions

  • You’re never pushed where you’re not ready

  • You don’t have to relive experiences to invite change

  • There’s no expectation to talk continuously

  • Responses are met with curiosity, not judgement

  • Small, quiet shifts are meaningful

Your body as the guide

I believe that physical comfort is the foundation for emotional regulation. By bridging the gap between nervous system support and physical muscle release, we address the 'whole' story your body is telling.

My training allows me to look at the whole picture—from the subtle shifts in your nervous system to the physical tension stored in your muscles through Hyperton-X.

Training & professional background

Alongside my lived experience, I weave together these modalities to support the whole person:

  • Kinesiology (Certificate IV — Kinesiology Schools Australia)
  • Holistic Counselling (Certificate I — Natural Energies College)
  • Reiki & energy modalities (Level 1, 2 and Master – Natural Healer)
  • Hyperton-X Sports Kinesiology (Basic & Advanced)

I continue to refine my practice — always guided by what best supports the whole person in front of me.

It’s not about fixing what’s broken — it’s about creating enough safety for change to unfold.

If this approach feels like a safe place for you to explore change, you’re welcome to book a session — even if you’re not sure where to start.
