FAQ - Your Questions Answered
A space for clarity and transparency.
Whether you are curious about how we work, the logistics of a session, or how holistic healing integrates with your wider support team, we hope you will find the answers here.
The experience
Every session is a gentle, collaborative process. We begin with a brief check-in to see what is present for you and then formulate a goal or focus for the session.
Generally, the session then moves to the massage table where you lie fully clothed. Each session is unique and may include:
-
Muscle monitoring as biofeedback to identify stressors and related emotions.
-
Physical corrections using light touch, breathing, or gentle resistance.
-
Guided visualisation and meditation.
-
Reiki and energy healing.

Not at all. While many people seek support for chronic pain, anxiety, or specific life transitions, others come for “maintenance”—to regulate their nervous system, gain clarity, or simply reconnect with themselves in a busy world.
Your comfort is my priority. You will remain fully clothed throughout the entire session. Because we will be gently moving your arms and legs to monitor muscle biofeedback, comfortable pants, leggings, or loose-fitting clothing are the best choice.
If you happen to be wearing a skirt or dress, don’t worry—I always have soft towels available to drape for your comfort and modesty so you can feel completely at ease during the movement.
I’ll also ask you to remove your shoes before we begin, so something easy to slip on and off is a great idea. Otherwise, simply wear whatever allows you to feel relaxed and ready to settle into the session.
Because every person’s nervous system is unique, there is no single way you will feel—but there are some common experiences.
Most people report feeling lighter, more relaxed, and clearer in their mind. You may notice a significant reduction in physical pain or a renewed sense of hope and positivity. For some, the shift is immediate and profound; for others, the changes are more subtle, gently unfolding over the weeks or months following our session.
While the process is deeply restorative, it is also a form of “inner work.” Occasionally, as old patterns shift, you may experience a temporary period of heightened emotion or fatigue as your body integrates the change. This is a natural part of the healing process and typically settles within a day or two.
I will always check in with you a few days after our time together to see how you are settling. However, please know that you can always reach out to me if you have questions or need support during your integration.
Healing is a layered process, and the number of sessions depends on your unique goals, how long you’ve carried a particular concern, and how your body integrates the work.
While most people notice a shift from their very first session, lasting change often requires a steady “anchoring” of new patterns. I generally recommend seeing clients for at least two to three sessions to ensure the work holds as you return to the stressors of your daily life. It’s a bit like clearing a path through a garden; the first pass opens the way, but a few follow-up visits ensure the path stays clear and easy to walk.
To support this journey, I offer dedicated Support Pathways:
-
A 3-Session Pathway: Ideal for addressing a specific, recent stressor or for a targeted “reset” of your system.
-
A 6-Session Pathway: Designed for deeper, long-standing patterns where we want to create sustainable, foundational change in your wellbeing.
During our initial session, we will discuss your goals and I will provide an honest recommendation for a plan that feels right for you. We can also check in with your body’s biofeedback toward the end of our time together to see what it requires for follow-up.
Ultimately, this is a collaborative partnership. We work at a pace that respects both your personal journey and your practical circumstances.
Distance is no barrier to deep, transformative healing. While being in the same room provides a beautiful, grounded connection, online sessions offer a unique opportunity to receive support from the comfort and safety of your own sanctuary.
In an online session, we weave together Holistic Counselling techniques, Guided Visualisation, and Intuitive Energy Healing. To bridge the physical gap, I utilise a process called “surrogating”. This involves tuning into your energetic field (with your permission), allowing my own muscle biofeedback to act as a mirror for your system. This enables us to identify stressors and energetic blocks just as we would in person.
Throughout the session, I may guide you to perform specific movements, breathing techniques, or gentle physical corrections on your own body. This interactive approach ensures that the healing is physically anchored and that you feel empowered as an active participant in your own regulation.
Many clients find that being in their own home allows them to be more receptive and relaxed, often facilitating a deeper state of integration. These sessions are conducted via a secure video platform and are a wonderful option if you are unable to travel or simply prefer to remain in your own space.
The Modalities
Holistic Healing is an approach to wellbeing that honours you as a complete being—recognising that your mind, body, and energy are inextricably linked.
Rather than simply treating a physical symptom (like a headache) or an emotional one (like stress) in isolation, we look at how these elements are communicating with each other. By identifying the root cause of an imbalance—whether it be nutritional, emotional, physical, or energetic—we work to restore your system to its natural state of flow. It is about moving beyond “fixing” and toward true integration and wholeness.
This approach is for anyone seeking a deeper connection to their health and a more empowered way of living. Because the techniques are gentle, non-invasive, and tailored to your body’s unique needs, it is a supportive modality for people at any stage of life.
Whether you are navigating a complex health journey, feeling “stuck” in a certain life pattern, or simply looking to maintain your vitality and nervous system resilience, Holistic Healing meets you exactly where you are. It is particularly beneficial for those who feel they have “tried everything” and are looking for a more integrated path toward recovery.
Working with Children and Young People: I value the opportunity to support younger clients as they navigate the big emotions and physical changes of growing up. My approach with children is highly collaborative; I work closely with parents and carers to ensure the child feels safe, heard, and supported throughout the process. To find out more about how we work together, you can view my Consent and Participation Guidelines, which outlines my commitment to a safe and inclusive environment for families.
It is important to note that I do not provide medical diagnoses or treat specific health conditions. Instead, we work together to identify and clear the underlying stressors that may be contributing to your physical or emotional discomfort. By working with the muscles, the mind, and the energetic system, we aim to reduce the “noise” in your nervous system, which often allows symptoms to alleviate naturally as the body returns to a state of balance.
Many clients find this work particularly supportive for:
-
Physical Tension & Ease: Releasing chronic holding patterns in the body, such as jaw tension, neck and shoulder tightness, or general physical fatigue.
-
Stress & Anxiety: Moving the nervous system out of “survival mode” and into a state of calm, helping to reduce feelings of overwhelm and restlessness.
-
Boundaries & Self-Worth: Identifying the energetic and emotional blocks that prevent you from feeling confident, setting clear boundaries, and standing in your own value.
-
Confidence & Self-Expression: Clearing the limiting beliefs and “old stories” that keep you feeling small or stuck, allowing your authentic self to emerge.
-
Mental Clarity & Focus: Quieting the inner critic and clearing mental “fog” so you can find a sense of direction and purpose.
If you are curious about how we might work with your specific situation, I invite you to reach out for a conversation.
The core difference lies in the belief that the discomforts we experience are rarely physical or mental in isolation. Our bodies and minds are in a constant, 360-degree conversation with our energy, our environment, and our lifestyle choices. A physical tension is often an emotional story held in the tissues, and a mental loop of anxiety often has a physiological anchor in the nervous system. This deep connectedness is precisely why we look at the whole person.
Many Allied and Complementary health modalities are incredibly effective but tend to focus their expertise on a specific layer of our wellbeing. For example:
-
Some modalities, such as Counselling, honour the exploration of the mind through verbal communication, and intellectual understanding of our feelings and emotions.
-
Others, such as Physiotherapy or Massage, focus beautifully on the mechanics and health of our physical structures, such as our muscles and joints.
Holistic Healing acts as a bridge between these worlds. Rather than focusing on one area, we work with the resonance between them. By using muscle monitoring as a gateway, we can listen to what the nervous system is communicating across all levels—physical, emotional, and energetic. This allows us to address these layers simultaneously, supporting a deeper and more integrated state of wellbeing that reflects how you actually live and move in the world.
Absolutely. Holistic Healing is designed to be a complementary practice, meaning it works beautifully alongside both conventional medicine and other allied health treatments.
I often say to my clients that “it takes a village to raise a child,” and I believe the same is true for our own wellbeing. We thrive when we have a great support team around us, and I love seeing my clients draw on the unique benefits that different approaches offer.
Many people find that this work actually enhances their other treatments. For example, by lowering the body’s stress response, you may find you are more receptive to the benefits of physical therapy or more able to integrate the insights gained in counselling.
I am always happy to work as part of your broader “village,” ensuring our sessions align with and support the work you are already doing with your GP, specialist, or other practitioners.
